PLANTAE PARADISE
If i were to complete the sentence ” a trip to Shimla is incomplete without…” i would have only one answer.. ” a stop at plantate paradise”.. Just as we entered the hills of parwanoo.. i shrieked STOP STOP STOP STOP!!! Sadly we did not or could not because my husband could not make out what in the world is making me scream so much except a speeding car with me in it.. My brain on the other hand stopped working when i read the words ” PLANTAE PARADISE” and i have a valid excuse for it!
Ever since i lost the lithops i had so lovingly germinated, i had been following plantate paradise on fb, drooling at the mind-blowing varieties of succulents especially the lithops.. I had no clue about the whereabouts of the nursery and discovering it on our way was like a cherry on the top of the icing on the cake(namely the trip to shimla) What i discovered inside though, totally blew me away!!
Cute little steps and paths crossing over hills and ponds led us into a world of plant fantasy.. 14 poly-houses.. each with a theme are miniature worlds of wonders.. It is a place for the serious plant fanatics who collect for the love of it.. Succulents.. Desert plants.. Tropicals.. Adeniums.. and even carnivorous varieties that sit there in little pots looking innocent but do not let an insect pass by!
It is hard to choose a favourite and i wanted them all but i did go through twice by the tropical polyhouse.. Imagine a lush tripical jungle with blooming orchids and live growing moss.. The fragrance of wet earth.. All that you can think of and much more minus the reptiles and insects.. I might as well call it heaven..
With beauty spilling out of each nook and cranny, plantae paradise manages to charm even the non-gardeners(case in point: my husband.. we spent over two hours there exploring and chatting.. he never noticed the time!!)
I can go on and on but you will probably enjoy the pictures more than my words.. And for those who eat live and dream plants(like me).. what are you waiting for??? Goooo now!!!!
