GARDENING IN THE RAIN…………
So this is how I spent yesterday.. or so I would like to think, because obviously after so much of doing all this, I had no of energy to do anything else… but well worth it!! The garden really really needed to be sorted before adding new plants(which I am always wanting to… but in my defense, I am setting up a new garden!)
I’d gone out to *just* do some wedding and well.. it started to rain.. the kind of heavy rain we had been waiting for since days.. With a quick grab at the weeds in the last planter, i was ready to run for shelter when i saw the rain pause.. the weather tempted me and before i knew i was gardening in the rain soaking wet and totally enjoying myself!! Who wants to sit indoors and look at the rain with a mug of coffee when you can go out and experience it firsthand with a shovel in your hand 🙂
Who says that crazy weather can stop a gardener.. I think that the weather can never stop a crazy gardener!!
I had some succulents that had been staying in a tray for a few months now and since i do not have appropriate planters at the moment, i decided to use nursery pots. the only thing is that they dry out quickly hence the thought to arrange them in this plastic bag that can hold water and keep the plants moist.. On the sides i’d originally planned to plant lettuce but these trays are too shallow so in went the mint.. anyhow, which house/garden/kitchen can do without mint?
My loving goodnight to my garden yesterday made way for a thundering morning as i woke up at six by the sound of rain.. and the first thing I thought was whether the planters lined on the wall(very lovingly yest) we there or “gone with the wind”.. so out i went to check and seeing everything safe and sound afforded me 3 more hours of blissful sleep 🙂 The clouds have gathered again as I type and those are some serious clouds.. dark grey and thundering.. i’ll take it any-day though.. over my plants (and myself) scorching in the heat!
