IDENTIFY FLOWER BULBS

So, it occurred to me,  to take pictures of the flower bulbs i am going to sow this season (WINTERS). I thought it might be of help to some of you having a stash of non-labelled bulbs.

This is a handy guide on HOW TO IDENTIFY WINTER FLOWER BULBS. I shall be adding more pics as i plant bulbs in different seasons. CLICK HERE TO STAY UPDATED.  Also, as these flowers bloom, i will add a picture of blooms next to the bulb so that it becomes more relatable.

To make space I had to finally uproot my tuberose bulbs still green. Now they have been put in the sun to dry.

I see you have done the same. Any past experience do they come up that way?
All I know is letting the leaves dry and then uprooting.

You are doing it right! Now you can either replant the bulbs in any spare container- a mug, cup, bottle, tub etc and well-watered, they will continue to multiply OR simply dust off the bulbs, check that they are firm to touch and completely dry. Remove the roots n foliage, wrap loosely in newspaper or a paper bag. Make sure there is no dampness and keep at a well-ventilated dark spot. This sounds lengthy but is a quick and easy procedure.

Thank you so much for your post! My daughter and I found what must have been a “dump spot” for someone’s garden! BULBS EVERYWHERE! We easily collected 100+ bulbs in a matter of minutes! According to your pictures, we found daffodils, hiycinths and tulips! ?

Cleaning an area in the yard here in NC that I have not bothered before, raking all the leaves and brush etc away.and found bulbs and bulbs and bulbs…did I mention bulbs? what looks like maybe daffodils that have created tons of babies over the years. covering them back up for now, deciding if I am going to give them new homes elsewhere. 🙂 Is there something else that could look like a daffodil bulb? Hoping I am not getting excited over a weed etc….

I have a lily that belonged to my mother, who passed away 35 years ago. I cannot remember the name of the lily and would really appreciate any help identifying it.
    Best regards,
    Jeanie

My daughter was pulling weeds and found several small bulbous plants growing. She did not plant any bulbs in this area. There is an iris plant to the left of the driveway but this unknown is also found in a bed on the other side of the driveway. FYI, she has dahlias but knows what their bulb looks like.
I would like to send a picture of this possible weed/ or not a weed. She lives in Spring Texas

I found a bulb that looks like an onion with large white roots on the edge of the driveway. Most of the bulb was exposed and it has little green leaves on top. Any clue as to what it could be??
